Cindy

I grew up in Virginia and attended Wake Forest University where I found my first paid writing job in the Sports Information Department. (Go Deacs!) After graduation, I worked for Raycom Sports, the County's recycling program and as a writer, photographer and graphic artist for the City of Charlotte.

After my wife and I adopted our son, I joined the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) and began writing picture books and middle grade novels. I enjoy conferences, workshops and critique groups as much as writing.

In 2016, I was accepted to the Rutgers One-On-One Plus Mentorship program. 

In 2017-2018, I served as an intern for a literary agency in New York. 

My personal essays have aired on the local NPR affiliate in Charlotte and in The Charlotte Observer.
